The Eureka sucked up dirt that must have been in the carpet. I could tell the next day that the carpet had been vacuumed, unlike with my old vacuum. We have 5 dogs and this vacuum pulled up the hair great. The power paw did wonderful on the furniture and has great suction. I have never owned Eureka before, but this vacuum is wonderful! The price is right and it has some nice attachments. the power-paw is sweet! The hose is short so buy an extension hose, but other than that this is the right tool for the job! The suction is strong and the filters are easily accessible and easy to clean with a small brush or compressed air. I have to recommend this vacuum to anyone who does not have a lot to spend but needs a good cleaning machine. This is a nice vacuum!
