The bagless dust cup is easily removable and uses a washable, reusable filter, while the on-board accessory tools include a dust brush and crevice tool. The easy-remove centre body detaches to convert into a lightweight hand held vac: Great for all floor types, with a deluxe floor attachment.

This lightweight adaptable machine received mostly good reviews, but mainly for small areas with hardwood floors; a huge improvement on a sweeping brush, but not as powerful as a regular full-size vacuum. There are two speeds although the second is seldom necessary as the first is already pretty powerful. The general consensus is that this is an excellent choice for an everyday vacuum to keep floors dust free, but doesn’t do the job of a heavy vacuum on large pickup jobs or on carpets. A small apartment with only hard floors or flat-pile rugs would find this machine ideal; easy to store, using very little space; lightweight and easy to maneuver, as well as excellent for hard to reach areas, in handheld form with the long hose. Homes with a lot of deep pile carpet and heavy vacuuming jobs would benefit from this model only as a second vacuum, for in-between, light jobs to save getting out the bigger heavier vacuum every day.
One reviewer declared it excellent at picking up decorative glitter from between floorboards and even from a straw rug.
The one drawback is the dust collector is very small and needs frequent emptying, in quite a messy process that is better done outside. Overall the EP601 is a thoroughly recommended buy, at a fraction of the cost of others.
