Shark Navigator Review: Does the Euro Pro Navigator Lose Suction?

October 30, 2009

Shark Navigator: As seen on TV

The Shark company has lost some of its credibility with the dubious reviews on their Euro ep710, but the Shark Navigator upright seems to be heading in the right direction. Their tag line says “Never Losses Suction” I don’t know if they had a little meeting with James Dyson, but that claim cannot  be a bad thing.

Shark Navigator Consensus: Because the warranties of this upright are generous this vacuum excells for its price range ($200). It has a lot of things going for it including tools, solid performance and quiet, among other things. This upright vacuum mostly exceeds expectations.

So with the question posed, “Does the Shark Navigator Lose Suction?.” We couldn’t find evidence that it doesn’t, so we think its claims are justified.

Shark Navigator Reviews

Reviews, unlike the ep710 model, are plentyful and all seem to to support the conclusion that this upright is one of the better Shark Upright Vacuums. One user says, “The vacuum really sucks, but in a good way. It’s very powerful as advertised, but it doesn’t have a HEPA filter as advertised in the title. When we called Shark’s representative we were told that this model doesn’t include or handle HEPA filters.”

One hands on reviewer says, “Shark sent me a a Navigator to test out and I am SO IMPRESSED with it! It comes with a power nozzle, pet hair brush, and 24″ crevice tool. The electrical cord is very long at 30 feet. It is a bagless design with lifetime filters and belt so you never have to pay for replacements. It even came with an additional filter to use while one is drying! Very cool!”

There are negative reviews on the Shark Navigator, including “The dining room where my dogs spend a lot of time did have more picked up by this vacuum, but I cannot tell if it is anymore then my other shark upright which is the model made for cleaning up pet hair, and only cost me a bit over $60.00. I did not get that same “new” carpet look I was hoping for, and my carpets are less then 6 months old. ”
