Shark’s bagged sweeper is V1917, is a bagged lightweight sweeper. It is similar to the Shark UV617 Sweeper, yet it is bagged, and unlike the UV617 it is not.
Shark V1917 Consensus: The sweeper does a commendable job on floors and carpets, but still like the Shark UV617 the product has design flaws which won’t replace your vacuum. You should invest a quality vacuum cleaner, rather then this $60 sweeper that may or may not work for you.

Reviews for Shark V1917 sweeper were not unanimous saying negative things about the quality and performance of the sweeper (but there was definitely a lot of negative reviews), “I wanted something light, small and basic. It met those criteria but the battery really does not stay charged, weak suction and have had hair caught in brushes that probably render them useless. Even after making sure it is emptied, brushes clear, I think about my grandmother’s carpet sweep that worked better without the bells and whistles. Doesn’t really do the job, isn’t really worth any stars. Stick to your broom.”
For more reviewers say that the sweeper can’t handle a lot of cleaning jobs which it would claim, “The bottom emptying feature really appealed to me. I read the directions, charged it 24 hours, turned it on and swept one square foot of my carpet. That was all it could handle!!! It jammed up and turned off because it actually had to pick up something.”
Other Positive Reviewers say that it works great for pet hair, “If you have pets, ESPECIALLY long-haired pets …. you’ve GOTTA get this machine for quick pick ups!!! (It won’t replace your big machine, but it sure helps between vacuumings.)”
